The presidential jet NAF 001 carrying the president landed at the presidential wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe airport, Abuja exactly 4:36pm Nigerian time.
He was well received by the vice president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo and other top government officials.
His official convoy has since departed for the presidential villa.
There's massive jubilation in the streets kg Abuja on the news of the return of the president.
